Jimmy and Kim hire an assistant; Mike seeks out a mysterious acquaintance; and Chuck uses the law to gain an advantage over Jimmy.

the Motor Vehicles Division is part of the DOT, a division.
Whereas, in most other states, the DMV...
or Department of Motor Vehicles is its own entity.
So I don't know if that answers the question,
except to say that's the government for you.

We did see hundreds of people every day.

I mean, why leave the DMV or MVD?
I have to imagine you'll be giving up a good benefits package.

there's a bureaucracy to government work, that...

Al anochecer, Chuck prepara una taza de té y revisa las cerraduras de todas las puertas de su casa. Lo acompaña un investigador privado, Dave Brightbill , que está jugando al solitario. Después de apagar la luz de la linterna, Chuck mira hacia afuera.


















Acto I

Continuando con su persecución, Mike observa cómo los dos secuaces a los que siguió desde su casa le entregan el rastreador a un mensajero. Mike sigue al mensajero durante el resto de la noche mientras recoge pequeños palés de lugares remotos de Albuquerque. Temprano en la mañana, Mike ve al mensajero entrar a un restaurante y entrar con una mochila. Después de que se va, la lectura del rastreador muestra que está estacionario, lo que sugiere que está dentro del restaurante. Mientras Mike se aleja, la cámara se aleja para revelar que el restaurante es Los Pollos Hermanos .

Acto II
Jimmy continúa renovando la oficina de Wexler McGill cuando una mujer llamada Francesca Liddy aparece para una entrevista de trabajo. Durante su reunión con Jimmy y Kim , Francesca repasa su experiencia como empleada en la División de Vehículos Motorizados de Nuevo México. Jimmy le hace preguntas inusuales a Francesca y está ansioso por que comience a trabajar de inmediato como la nueva recepcionista. Kim insiste en pasar por un proceso de contratación más completo, pero Jimmy le dice que tiene un comercial al aire en unos minutos y que necesita que Francesca se encargue de las llamadas entrantes. Jimmy entrena a Francesca cuando entran dos llamadas, una de las cuales resulta ser de Mike. Jimmy acepta reunirse con Mike a la mañana siguiente.
Acto III
Mike le pide a Jimmy que ingrese a Los Pollos Hermanos para observar al mensajero cuando entre. Después de tomar un pedido, Jimmy observa cómo llega el mensajero, recoge su propia comida y se sienta en una mesa con la mochila entre los pies. Jimmy intenta y falla en actuar casualmente mientras observa al mensajero. Cuando el mensajero se deshace de su basura y se va con la mochila, Jimmy busca en el contenedor de basura para ver si el mensajero escondió algo allí. De repente es saludado por Gustavo Fring, quien le pregunta a Jimmy si necesita ayuda. Jimmy rápidamente se quita el reloj y dice que lo perdió en la basura. Gus ayuda a Jimmy a recuperar su reloj y Jimmy se va. Le dice a Mike que no vio nada sospechoso en el restaurante, para gran frustración de Mike. Gus está afuera limpiando la basura y mira a sabiendas mientras Jimmy se aleja, consciente de que Mike está detrás de él.
Acto IV
Mike continúa vigilando Los Pollos Hermanos y nota que un Escalade negro se detiene en la parte trasera del edificio. Cuando el automóvil, que se revela que es conducido por Víctor , se pone en marcha, la lectura indica que el rastreador está adentro. Mike sigue el Escalade.
Ernesto , paranoico , conduce a WM y llama a Kim para que se reúna con él en su auto afuera. Después de enterarse de lo que sabe, Kim lleva a Jimmy a una habitación privada y le pide que le dé un billete de $ 20 para convertirla oficialmente en su abogada. Ahora protegida por el privilegio abogado-cliente, le dice a Jimmy que sabe sobre su confesión de manipular los archivos de Mesa Verde . Jimmy defiende sus acciones y luego le asegura a Kim que es su palabra contra la de Chuck. Kim revela que Chuck grabó su confesión, lo que aturde a Jimmy.
Acto V
Kim lleva a cabo una investigación y, en base a lo que ha aprendido, se da cuenta de que Chuck no puede usar la cinta de confesión en la corte y no la usará para recuperar a Mesa Verde y revela que tiene estrategias listas para que la cinta se transmita directamente en la corte (casi exactamente como Howard predijo en el episodio anterior). Kim sugiere que Jimmy no actúe y espere a que Chuck dé el primer paso. En cambio, Jimmy se va enojado.
En el desierto, Mike continúa siguiendo la señal del rastreador emitida por el Escalade, pero la persecución lo lleva a encontrar un teléfono celular que suena colocado encima de una tapa de combustible en el centro de una carretera remota. Mike levanta el teléfono y contesta la llamada.

En la casa de Chuck, Howard se escabulle inusualmente sobre varias paredes para que lo dejen entrar por la puerta trasera. Chuck le revela a Howard que deliberadamente filtró la grabación a Ernesto, sabiendo que le avisaría a Jimmy sobre la cinta. Chuck predice que Jimmy entrará a la casa de Chuck por la noche para robar la cinta, momento en el que Chuck puede hacer que lo arresten por robo criminal y exponerlo por completo. Para sorpresa de todos, Jimmy enfurecido aparece en la casa de Chuck en ese mismo momento. A plena luz del día, Jimmy derriba la puerta de Chuck y le grita por hacerle esa "estafa del corazón". "Con razón Rebeca¡dejarte! ¿Por qué tardó tanto?", grita antes de abrir el cajón del escritorio y romper la cinta en la cara de Chuck. Amenaza con "quemar toda la maldita casa hasta los cimientos" para encontrar posibles copias. Sin embargo, Jimmy ha jugado directamente en Las manos de Chuck: Howard y Dave dan a conocer su presencia y se declaran testigos de los crímenes de Jimmy.

Trivialidades

Kim pidiéndole a Jimmy que ponga un dólar en su bolsillo para establecerla como su abogada refleja la forma en que Jimmy le pregunta lo mismo a Walt y Jesse en el episodio " Better Call Saul ".
Este episodio marca la primera aparición cronológica de Francesca y Victor , quienes aparecieron por primera vez en Breaking Bad .
También es la primera aparición cronológica sin flash back de Gus , quien cronológicamente aparece antes en " Hermanos ".
La introducción de Gus es la misma que la de Breaking Bad , en su restaurante , saludando al protagonista en su papel de gerente de Los Pollos Hermanos, sin que el protagonista se entere.
A pesar de que Breaking Bad establece que Saul solo conocía a Gus a través de un "chico que conoce a otro chico, que conoce a otro chico", es la primera vez que Saul y Gus comparten una escena.
Además de su Chrysler Fifth Avenue de 1988 , Mike usa muchos vehículos para observar. Después de desarmar en pedazos pequeños su Chevrolet Caprice Estate de 1987 en el episodio anterior (" Mabel ") , compra un Buick LeSabre de 1992 de segunda mano que es visible en muchas escenas de Breaking Bad .
En Better Call Saul Insider Podcast, Vince Gilligan confesó que "no se divirtió mucho dirigiendo" los dos primeros episodios de la temporada 3 , porque "fue muy, muy difícil (...) dirigir dos episodios seguidos". . La última vez que hizo eso fue en la temporada 4 de Breaking Bad (" End Times ", " Face Off ") y era "un 10% más joven" y "ese 10% marca una gran diferencia". Sin embargo, está muy orgulloso de estos dos episodios.
La forma en que Jimmy quita la cinta con el logo "WexlerMcgill" de la pared es la misma que le enseñó Chuck en el episodio anterior, " Mabel ". A mitad de camino, Jimmy decide simplemente arrancar la cinta del logotipo a pesar de que Chuck le dijo previamente que no lo hiciera, reflejando la relación actual con su hermano.
