to bring you breaking news.

Good afternoon.

In the last several minutes,

KOB has received dozens of reports

of what appears to be
a crashed aircraft--

possibly two aircraft--

on Albuquerque's east side.

As of yet, details are scarce,

but callers describe witnessing
an explosion overhead,

followed by falling debris.
Visible now toward...

...crash investigators with the
National Transportation Safety Board

are expected on-site as
early as this evening.

But officials warn that,

with a debris field
of this magnitude,

the investigation and the
clean-up may well stretch--

...are now saying
that the Boeing 737

was being re-routed or vectored

through the airspace,

which is standard procedure,

according to a
spokesman for the FAA.

The eight-seat King Air 350

was a charter flight

operating out of
Saint George, Utah,

bound for Amarillo, Texas.

It sounded like hail.

Like heavy hailstones.

It was just, um...

bump-bump-bump all
over the neighborhood.

...indicating that the final
death toll now stands at 167.

This mid-air collision
has left many wondering

how such an accident
could take place

in a system with
so many safeguards.

Allegations continue
that the collision

which brought down Flight 5

was caused by improper
air traffic control.

The bombshell confirmation
out of Oklahoma City today,

as the FAA confirmed,
it was, indeed,

a lone air traffic
controller's fateful mistake...

And friends of the family say the
death of his only child

hit Margolis particularly hard.

Coming as it did little more

many are questioning the timing

of his return to work,

and are wondering how much
blame truly lies

with those who let this
grieving father--

to move back, but it's time.

a terrible tragedy,

one that none of us
will ever forget,

which is why today we're

this thing where,

if your roommate kills himself--

and find him hanging in
the closet or whatever--

there was still a pair of legs

crashed into each
other on Tenerife.

Does anybody know how big a 747 is?

I mean, it's way bigger than a 737.

And we're talking
about two of them.

And this is in Portsmouth,
Virginia,

where instead of selling
liquor in the supermarkets,

they have these ABC stores
which close at 5 p.m.

And right then it was, like, 4:42.

So I'm arguing with my wife--

"Come on, go to the ABC for me.

"It's my birthday.

"Come on.

They're not gonna sell it to me."

She's saying, "No, no."

So I'm p---ed,
and the clock is ticking,

so I jump in my truck.

She's--

my 6-year-old daughter...

She's playing at the
end of the driveway.

So...

How do you not hate yourself?

I did hate myself...

for a long time.

But it didn't stop me from...

drinking and getting high.

It just made it that much worse.

Self-hatred, guilt,

it accomplishes nothing.

It just stands in the way.

What the h--- is going on in there?

En un remoto pueblo de México, hombres y mujeres se arrastran boca abajo por un polvoriento camino del desierto bordeado de adobe. Un sedán Mercedes se detiene junto a la procesión que se arrastra. Dos hombres  salen del auto; ambos usan trajes bien cortados y botas vaqueras con puntas de calaveras plateadas. Los hombres comienzan a gatear con los demás. La procesión se dirige a un santuario a la luz de las velas de la Santa Muerte , una deidad popular mexicana que representa la muerte. Los dos hombres se ponen de pie. Uno hace una ofrenda, mientras que el otro clava algo en el santuario: un tosco boceto de Heisenberg .

Acto I

En Albuquerque , la cobertura del desastre del Wayfarer 515 domina las noticias de televisión. En la semana posterior al accidente, Donald Margolis ha sido identificado como el controlador de tráfico aéreo que, distraído por el dolor por la reciente sobredosis de drogas de su hija , permitió que el avión chocara con un avión chárter en pleno vuelo. En la piscina detrás de la residencia White , un arrepentido Walt, plenamente consciente de su culpabilidad en el accidente, tira el dinero de las drogas en una parrilla al aire libre y le prende fuego. Segundos después, duda de su decisión y arroja la parrilla en llamas a la piscina. La manga de su túnica se incendió, él también salta después.

Mientras tanto, Skyler se reúne con un abogado de divorcios que le advierte que mantener la residencia en la casa fortalecerá su posición en un caso de custodia. Acto II

Al día siguiente, Walt llama a casa desde su nuevo apartamento . Junior levanta el teléfono y se queja de que nadie le dice lo que está pasando con respecto al matrimonio de sus padres. A pesar de las objeciones de Skyler, Junior hace arreglos para que Walt lo lleve a la escuela. Más tarde, Walt recibe un texto de una sola palabra: "POLLOS".

En la escuela secundaria de Walt , se convoca una asamblea de estudiantes para discutir la reciente tragedia. Walt está visiblemente incómodo cuando un estudiante describe haber encontrado los restos de un pasajero de Wayfarer en su jardín. Al darse cuenta de esto, Carmen anima a Walt a expresarse. Walt intenta mitigar su culpa diciéndole a su audiencia cada vez más incrédula que "mire el lado positivo", utilizando el mayor número de muertos por el desastre de Tenerife para sugerir que el accidente de Wayfarer no es tan malo en comparación. Carmen, al encontrar inapropiadas las palabras de Walt, abrevia su discurso.

Afuera de una casa de campo en el desierto en ruinas, los dos hombres se acercan a un tendedero. Una niña y sus padres observan cómo los hombres cambian sus trajes bien cortados por ropa de trabajo desgastada, conservando solo sus armas y sus distintivas botas. Depositan las llaves de su Mercedes en un cuerno de cabra y se van.

Acto III

Cuando Walt lleva a Junior a casa, su hijo le pregunta por qué no entra a la casa. En el interior, Junior arremete contra Skyler con enojo, con la impresión de que ella lo está persiguiendo. Marie , que está presente, razona que Junior está ansioso por saber por qué sus padres se han separado, lo cual ella misma quiere saber. Skyler le dice a Marie que necesita apoyarla sin entrometerse.

Durante otra sesión de conversación en rehabilitación, Jesse, abatido, le pregunta al líder del grupo: "¿Alguna vez has lastimado a alguien?". Se sorprende cuando el líder del grupo admite que mató a su hija y explica que la mató accidentalmente con su automóvil mientras estaba intoxicado. "¿Cómo no te odias a ti mismo?" pregunta Jesse. "Lo hice, durante muchos años", admite el líder del grupo. Pero la culpa y el odio a sí mismo, explica, se interponen en el camino del verdadero cambio.

Skyler visita a Walt en su apartamento y lo sorprende con los papeles del divorcio. Cuando Walt se resiste, Skyler lo acusa sin rodeos de ser traficante de drogas. Al establecer una conexión con Jesse, Skyler acusa a Walt de pagar su tratamiento médico vendiendo marihuana. Sorprendido por todo lo que ha descubierto, Walt admite a regañadientes que es un cocinero de metanfetamina. Negándose a escuchar las racionalizaciones de Walt, Skyler promete no decirle a Hank ni a nadie más lo que Walt está haciendo, pero solo si concede el divorcio y se mantiene alejado de sus hijos.

Acto IV

Después de que Walt recoge a Jesse de rehabilitación, Jesse insinúa que él es el responsable de la muerte de Jane y, por extensión, del accidente aéreo. Walt intenta que Jesse no se culpe a sí mismo por la tragedia, enumerando una serie de factores menores que, según él, contribuyeron más al accidente. "O huyes de las cosas o las enfrentas", responde Jesse. Ha aprendido a aceptar sobre sí mismo lo que Walt no puede: "Yo soy el malo".

Walt visita Los Pollos Hermanos y se encuentra con Gus . A pesar de su gran respeto por Gus, Walt ha decidido dejar de cocinar metanfetamina. En respuesta, Gus le ofrece a Walt $3 millones por tres meses de su trabajo. Walt todavía se niega, afirmando que su familia significa más para él que cualquier dinero que pueda ganar al continuar en el tráfico de drogas.

Mientras tanto, escondidos entre los fardos de paja de un camión agrícola, los dos hombres se sientan con un grupo de inmigrantes indocumentados que pasan de contrabando a través de la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México. Un joven se jacta ante los hombres de pintar autos para pandilleros en Michoacán , pero rápidamente se calla cuando nota las calaveras en sus botas. Al escuchar disparos en la espalda, el conductor del camión se detiene para investigar. Huye cuando los hombres emergen de la parte trasera del camión y, posteriormente, recibe un disparo en la espalda. Luego, los dos hombres prendieron fuego al camión y a sus pasajeros asesinados. Se alejan en silencio mientras el vehículo explota.

Trivialidades

Este es el segundo episodio de estreno dirigido por Bryan Cranston . El primero fue " Siete treinta y siete ".

Cuando Barry se refiere a cómo las universidades otorgan a los estudiantes una A automática si su compañero de cuarto se suicida, se refiere a un viejo pero incorrecto rumor que ha circulado en los campus universitarios durante décadas y que también formó la base de la película Dead Man on Campus.

Taylor Cranston , quien interpreta a "Sad Faced Girl" en este episodio, es la hija de Bryan Cranston.

Además, la "Mujer Emocional", Robin Dearden , es la esposa de Bryan Cranston.

"No Más" es español para "no más", la postura actual de Walt sobre su cocina de metanfetamina.

En la escena en la que Walt decide quemar su dinero, Bryan Cranston está literalmente en llamas antes de tirarse a la piscina.

Tras el devastador accidente aéreo, la ciudad de ABQ se encuentra en estado de duelo. Aparentemente, todos los personajes están representados en este episodio con la cinta azul en apoyo de las víctimas. Todos excepto Walter White y Jr.. Ilustrando el deseo de Jr de estar cerca de su padre después de que Skyler lo echa. E ilustrando el deseo de Walt de lavarse las manos como justificación.

Un vuelo directo de Saint George, UT a Amarillo, TX no llevaría el avión directamente sobre Albuquerque, NM; especialmente a la altura a la que chocaron los dos aviones. Tampoco habría razón para hacer una parada en circunstancias normales ya que el vuelo dura solo 4 horas.

En la escena en la que los primos hacen estallar el camión, las imágenes de la explosión se filmaron desde lejos con una lente de enfoque largo. Esto tuvo el efecto de reducir la perspectiva y hacer que la explosión pareciera mucho más cercana a los actores de lo que realmente era. Lo hicieron todo en una sola toma y literalmente incendiaron el camión.

Las imágenes de noticias de un edificio en llamas (aparentemente por ser golpeado por escombros de Wayfarer 515) se tomaron de imágenes televisadas de un incendio real que estalló en Huning Castle Apartments en 15th & Central el 4 de agosto de 2009.
